St. Philip's Preschool Programs and Hours

Tuesday & Thursday Programs 8:30am - 2:30pm

We offer this two day a week class venue for children whose ages at the beginning of the school year are 24 months old through three years of age. Classrooms are designed to be age appropriate and teachers create lesson plans that challenge children with a full range of academic building blocks and foster the development of constructive social skills.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday Programs 8:30am - 2:30pm

Our three day classes follow the same principles of our two day classes but provide a greater exposure to educational resources and professional instruction by our seasoned teaching staff. Again, these classes are for children whose ages at the beginning of the school year are two years through four years of age. Classrooms are designed to be age appropriate and teachers create lesson plans that challenge children with a full range of academic concepts and foster the development of constructive social skills.

Five-Day Programs 8:30am - 2:30pm

Pre K: This five day program offers the best preparatory option for four year old children who will be entering kindergarten the following year. A full five day classroom setting exposes them to all the academic subjects, social skills, and organized structure they’ll need to thrive in the kindergarten setting.

The academic focus is to first meet each individual child where they are, and to expose the entire class to the skills needed to enter a kindergarten environment. Letter recognition, phonics, and writing skills along with math, language, and problem solving skills are all part of each week’s lesson plans and activities. From the social and emotional aspects of development, this five day class allows the children to develop a greater sense of self and independence while also learning how to have both friendships and collaborative ("working") relationships with peers.

Trans K: Our Transitional Kindergarten class is designed for children whose 5th birthdays fall shy of the FISD September 1st cut off or who are currently old enough for kindergarten but would benefit from an extra season of both social and academic experience before entering an Elementary School setting. Our curriculum models closely FISD’s Kindergarten expectations and goals and is taught by two outstanding, degreed, and experienced teachers. When our students move on to the larger, faster passed ISD environments they will know what it feels like to be successful learners and to love the learning process. The experience they have in our Transitional Kindergarten class will not just prepare them for kindergarten, but will set their entire educational career on the best course for success.

Combination 3 and 2 day classes: Younger children who attend five days a week will benefit from greater early exposure to all the academic basics and have lots of fun with friends building crucial social skills. *Some younger children may not be ready for a full five days of school structure. If separation anxiety persists in our youngest students we may suggest parents choose between either a two or three day venue.

Late Pickup Policy goes into effect at 2:35pm.

After School Care Programs 2:30pm - 5:30pm

We offer an After School Program for St. Philip's Preschoolers. We provide snacks, educational viewing programs, computer time, physical activity, study, free play, group games, arts and crafts. Extra focus work would also be available to reinforce academic concepts. Groups would be mixed ages.

Late Pickup Policy goes into effect at 5:30pm.

St. Philip’s Preschool closely follows the FISD calendar. Our school year starts approximately one week after FISD starts and ends one week before their last scheduled school day. All school Holidays are the same. Click here to see a full schedule for the 2017-2018 school year. School closures due to the weather also follow FISD. If FISD closes school, or delays school due to weather, St. Philip’s will not hold classes on those days.
